various | mainstreaming

okay enough of this indie business. here's some decidedly mainstream songs you probably have already that i've been enjoying recently. some are from one of those radio 1 live lounge albums, including a song i don't particularly like covered by a band i don't particularly like, but somehow works (umbrella).

the rave-ups' tune was featured in pretty in pink apparently at the request of fan molly ringwald. apparently she had good taste.

we start and end with 2 versions of i'm on fire. i find bat for lashes intensely annoying, having seen her at atp a couple of years ago, but i find myself enjoying her version despite myself (and her).

::: bruce springsteen - i'm on fire
::: robyn - with every heartbeat (lovely live piano version from radio 1)
::: biffy clyro - umbrella (live acoustic version from radio 1)
::: the rave-ups - positively lost me (pretty in pink yes!!)
::: amy winehouse - valerie (live acoustic version from radio 1)
::: bat for lashes - i'm on fire (from dermot o'leary's radio 1 show)

getsome.

p.s. some of these are m4as, but i'm sure you can handle that, right?
