shonen knife were one of those bands briefly in the media spotlight in th grunge era thanks to namechecks by kurt cobain, plus the patronage of bands like sonic youth and redd kross. as 3 japanese women in matching outfits playing naive indie pop/punk songs, it's not suprising. that they're still going after 27 years perhaps is.released by subversive in 1986.
