elevate | bronzee

elevate are one of those bands that lived fast, died young and left a couple of beautiful records. particularly if you're into slint. or are a fan of the flower shop/god machine/sophia school of albini-esque rock dynamics tied to miserablism. (something like that anyway.) they recorded two albums for flower shop, bronzee and the architect, and both display a special brand of sturm und drang. call it music for people with hangovers that feel like lashing out at the world a little.

here are three songs from the first album, released on robin proper-sheppard's aforementioned flower shop label. he produced it too.

::: elevate - garden
::: elevate - priceless water/victim no.12

::: elevate - the train journey

gaming fans might be interested to know that elevate features one paul collyer, co-creator of the championship manager games. and singer tim ward has a new band called lord god.
